Benefit and Goal:
More than 1 billion people in the world lack access to clean water. This has attributed to over 2 million unsafe drinking water deaths every year, and most are children. Every day, 6,000 children die from water-related illnesses such as diarrhea, malaria, typhoid, cholera, worms, and parasites. Their greatest need is clean water.
Proceeds of this event will help to provide wells for those who have no access to clean water. Our goal of at least 1,000 walkers/runners would provide clean water to 2,000 people for 20 years.
